Here Continents Collided
The Khumbu landscape has it all for me. You walk into the 30km uplifted earths crust and you see that small bit of Tethys on top of the world’s highest uplift and it is very special. The challenge is to capture that grandeur with detail. On my last visit it was by using a 4*5 plate camera. This time around it will be with the latest Nikon cameras.
You travel for days and walk for weeks. Hoping for that fleeting perfect glimpse. Between shifting cloudscapes.

Kunde peak opposite Namche Bazaar. Very interesting thrust faulting with an associated fault bend highlighted by the snow cover, gives you a lead into the structural complexity!!!!

Tethyan Cambro-Ordovician sediments on top of the world. With a jet stream for added drama (Sept 2009)
